I have 20 years professional teaching experience and I'm:
- Fully insured in respect of Public Liability
- Hold an Enhanced CRB Check
- Member of the Musicians Union
- Grade 8 qualified in Classical Guitar (ABRSM)
- Grade 8 qualified in Percussion (Guildhall)
My main aim is that you enjoy learning to play your chosen instrument, and that lessons meet your individual needs.
Students come to me with many different goals:
- Learn to play from scratch
- Frustrated following efforts to self-teach
- Unsatisfactory progress with another tutor
- Experienced / advanced player seeking outside input
- Desire to take formal examinations (although not a necessity)
- Simply to enjoy playing
You may recognise one or more of the above in yourself, and may feel very apprehensive and unsure at this stage. This is a natural reaction as any new venture can cause feelings of uncertainty. I understand this, and will make the process a reassuring and enjoyable one.
